At Carryconcealed.net we have noticed that there are great lists available for 72 hour bags, but we have not seen anyone talking about taking your favorite CCW pistol with you to protect your family or bring down small game following a disaster. We also are asking the question; “Can you take care of your family for 72 hours, three months, six months or one year without going to the store or help from protective services from your local or national government?”

Traveling for years has left me a little more cautious than many of my family and friends. There are way too many possibilities for traveling families to “Stumble” into a bad situation. Those that are watching their surroundings may reduce the need for quick draw on a CCW. The ultimate goal is not to get into a gunfight, but rather avoid the violent conflict. The Maryland Firearms Training Group has some good suggestions listed in this article.
